Christmas Assembly 2009

With the mercy from the Lord, the Christmas Assembly 2009 started and finished in such a blessed weather. The few days before the assembly, we struggled with sweat and the imagination of students have to sit under the big, hot sun. Suprisingly, on the assembly's morning, we had such a wonderful, cloudly, windy morning. Praise the Lord that all the students and teachers can enjoy a wonderful morning...
Around 150 guests turned up, including students' parents, relatives and friends. Throughout the different programs such as dance, songs and dramas which related to the message of Christmas. We wish that the holy spirit of Lord worked in the guests, students and teachers' hearts, so that the message about our Lord, Jesus will impact their life.

For us, this seems to be an end to the busyness throughout these Christmas season. May all the glory be unto God, and may His name be heard near or far. May we also have a good rest during the school holidays (24/12 to 3/1). Merry Christmas!! This is a good time to revisit our Saviour in the manger!!

Dedication Service + Opening Ceremony

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

May God bless you in this festive seasons.

Our school has gained a lot of blessing throughout these period too. With the completion of the new school building, we had the Dedication Service on last Friday morning, on the windy new rooftop. We dedicated this building for the marvelous works that God has been doing and he is going to do on this piece of land. May this building continuously become a blessing to Cambodian and bring forth the good message of God.

After the dedication service, we continued with the opening ceremony and invite the Singapore ambassador and team to join the ceremony. The day ended with a refreshment for guests and our special BB & GB teams.

New School Year

Dear brothers and sisters,

May the peace of God be with you, continuously.

Sorry for being late this month, as the starting of the new school year, we are busy in getting the class and students ready. Furthermore, we are both class teacher for Grade 8 and Grade 7, there are more things that we need to look into compared to only teaching English last year.
New School Year

We thank God that He had provided us a good start in this school year. The new building construction is ready for our secondary students right before they came back to school on the month of October. Although there are still minor touch up of the construction here and there in the school, but all the students have proper class to use now.

For this new school year, we have enrollment of 700 students (Nursery + Kindergarten + Primary + Secondary), compared to last year figure on 540 students. We also have increased teachers to 45 full time and 17 part time. We have a bigger family in the school this year.

Our New Responsibilities
There are some changes in our responsibilities too in the school. We shall update it next week.

Thanks for be with us in prayers and supports. As the start of school year, please pray for us:

1. Pray for the wisdom and love for the students as we are their class teachers, English teachers and Christian Education (CE) teachers now. We are really excited in becoming their CE teachers. This is a golden opportunity to let the students know more about gospel. Pray that we have wisdom and strength from God in handling this.

2. As more works in coming in now, pray for the better time management in our works and also spiritual life.

3. We have started the Level 3 Khmer language learning, pray for enough energy to study after the whole day works.

May God be your strength and shield wherever you are!!

Visitation cum video for drama (HTC2009)

Dear brothers and sisters,

May the peace of God be with you n your family.

Visitation

The visitation to students home has been completed on the beginning of the week. As the purpose of the visitation is to link the church and the students'families, we worked together with the pastor incharge of Toul Kork Church (Toul Kork Church is located within the school compound). We managed to go to 20 families of the non-sponsored secondary students.

Some parents welcomed us warmly by inviting us for lunch and served us with snacks. For most of the parents, they were touched and thankful that we do care about their children and willing to pay visit to their houses. Family visitation is not commonly practice in Cambodia yet. Thank God for the wonderful time with the families.

Do you still remember about the drama presented by students in the last day of HTC2009?

Here you are.... There would be another better version of complete HTC2009 event ---> It will be presented in Chin Daw Church's prayer meeting soon.

Please pray for us:

1. The school is under construction now... It has to get ready before school starts on October. Pray that the construction will be ready on time and the students will have a comfort place for study when they come back on 1st of October.

2. Now we are busy for setting up networks for school n computer room. As we never set up any network before, pray that G will grant us wisdom and knowledge in setting it up. Today, we had a try on the main router and it worked as aspected. Praise the Lord! There are another 2 LANs need to be set up.

3. Besides, bw is trying her best to finish the new computer syllabus. Pray that G grant her wisdom in establishing the syllabus and use her skills to glorify G's name.

Praise God for HTC2009

Dear brothers and sisters that prayed for us throughtout this period...
The HTC2009 lastly held its closing on 27 Aug 2009... it closed wonderfully with a revision by drama presentation for the 10th selected lessons that we have gone through in 14 days time. Of course it ended up with some fingerfood for our teachers and students too.
We have so much in heart to give thanks to God for be with us in this camp:
1. God gave us strength
As there is only three of us in the organisation team, most of the preparation tasks are on us. However, everytime when we felt tired after the morning camp (we need to start preparation for the net day in the afternoon n sometime dragged till night). God always gave us new strength to continue with a grateful and happy heart.
2. God provided all our needs
We need good weather for the outdoor activities, God provided (at the moment, the school still do not have a big hall that can accommodate more than hundred children. We need money to run the show, God provided. We need helpers for each team (we have 10 teams), God provided 2 teachers for each team. We need materials for the lesson, God provided a wonderful materials by knowing Him more through different name of Himself. We need speakers for everyday messages, God provided His servants from Singapore, Sarawak n in-house Singapore pastors. We need prayers to protect all of us, we have a group of faithful missionary friends from Sarawak to pray for us n provide physical helps if needed (they helped us to spare a lot of recycled materials too for the activities). And God also provided you, our prayer partners to become the strong pillars behind us n this work. Thank God so so so much.
3. God is be with us
In this camp, there was a cheating case happened where a boy cheat on the money (coupon) of another team during the cooking session (they used coupon as money to "buy" materials for their team cooking). As the judges checking out the issues, found out that the boy's team purchased the materials which worth more than the coupon that they had been given. The disiplinary action was taken place immediately after the incident.
However, that afternoon, when we checked out the photos taken. Found that there is one photo that showed the incident --- it was really a shock for us as what we didn't see, God showed it to us through randomly taken photographs. for the boy n the team, I think this is really a living testimony to them that God is always there to watch out what we are doing (so coincidently, the topic for that day is "Jehovah Shammah - God is always there").
4. God loves Cambodian
in this 14 days, as days passed, we saw the students changed gradually, although is slow, but progressing. For bw's group, started with "forcing" the students to pray for the snack time n during lesson time, till the last day --- the students waited for her for 15 minutes before they started eating, just to wait for her to come n pray together before they started eating. This is a wonderful and touching eperience for her.
In other teams, we saw also the team spirit of the students changed gradually, heart of selfishness lessen with the increase of loving each others in the camp. some life are touched and even teachers admitted they knowing God more through this camp.
God is here, not only with Malaysian or Singaporean, He also stand with Cambodian people here, will you join the line?
we are going to Singapore today, n will be back on Monday -- to attend the fund raising dinner for the school and other ministry. Please pray for our journey mercy. We shall update you more when we come back. May God be with you...

Sport Day 2009

Dear brothers and sisters,
May the peace of God be with you throughout the busyness in the daily life.
Last Friday, our school held the 2009 Sport Day. Everyone in the school was busy last week for students training and make preparation for this big day. Thanks God for preparing the Sibu Wesley short term mission team to be here with us. They handled the whole events of the telematch session included the ideas and students training. They also sponsored caps and prizes for this Sport Day. Thanks for their love to the children, may God reward them on their willingness to share the God's love with Cambodian children.
The result of our G9 students was announced last week. Out of 25 students who took the national exam, we have 2 top students in the Cambodia. In Cambodia, there is 60% of the students passed the exam. For our school, we have 2 students failed the exam and they achieved roughly 92% of the students passed the exam in MSC. Praise God for the good result. May God continuously lead this school in glorify His name on this piece of land.

Holiday Training Camp (HTC 2009)

Dear brothers and sisters,
The Grade 9 National Exam had passed, the G9 students were all very happy after the exam. They said that all the subjects are easier compared to the trial exam before, except Chemistry paper. We haven't got the result yet, but hope that their result will glorify God's name.

As a closing for this school year, we would like to share the happiness and the eagerness of us in looking forward to the Holiday Training Camp (HTC 2009) this year. This is the first year of having this in-house HTC in MSC.

The purpose of this training camp is targeted on both Christian and Non-Christian students in the school. We pray that God will use this camp to strengthen the faith of Christian among the students. For non-Christian students, we pray that they will accept the opportunity as God’s children. The three week camp is planned in such a way that the students will be able to know more about our God and truly understand the relationship that they can develop with God. May the words of God deeply sow in their heart that brings internal renewal and external changes in their attitudes and behaviors.

Please pray together with us:
1. Praise God that our small core committee (sk, bw and Teacher Vimala) has finalized the curriculum and workshops for this camp. We are in the process of tidy it up and translation to Khmer language.

2. We are going to distribute the registration form for students to get approval from their parents on this coming Wednesday. Pray for the students to be able to come and have desire to know God better.

3. We started looking for Worship Team member (among the students) for the camp, in which this team would served as the core group of leaders in the future follow-up after the camp. Pray that God provides suitable people for this team.

Please hand-in-hand pray together with us, for the students salvation and the power to fight against darkness.

July

Dear brothers and sisters,

Now is the busiest time for the school, for teachers of course. For students, the month of July is the merriest month in the whole year of studying. As they have completed the final exam earlier, this month is the time for chit-chating, preparing for the coming Annual Sport Day and the English Week, in which each class will have some activities that are related to English. For instance, Grade 7, 8 and 9 are going to have Speech Contest, Quizzes, and English Song singing contest in the middle of July. However, our G9 still needs to wait for another week to say “I am free!”. They are going to sit for the National Exam on the coming Monday and Tuesday. Please pray for their preparation and the reliance to God in facing such an important event in their life.

For us, besides keep ourselves busy with the school’s activities. We are engaged in the preparation and planning for the Holiday Training Camp. The schedule for the Holiday Training Camp is as below:
Teachers Training Camp 3/8/2009 – 7/8/2009 (1 week)
Secondary Students Training Camp 10/8/2009 – 27/8/2009 (3 weeks)

We shall share more about this in our next update.
