Repair House

Dear all,

Time flies, thanks for still be with us here in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
This month, sk carried out a house repair project, which is sponsored by the members of Kuching Chin Daw MC. A couple came here last August during the Holiday Training Camp and decided to help in a poor family after they went back to Malaysia.
This family (3 family members: an old mother, a grown-up son and a Grade10's daughter) stays on a "lake". Actually it is not a lake, just that the landscape of the area is lower than the other neighbouring land, so all the water gathered there. The mother used this opportunity to keep some ducks and geese for living. Although the older brother is working, but the job is not stable yet the pay is little.
After the raining season this year, the bridge that was initially connected the house to the dry land collapsed and the house was shaking especially on the both small "wing" that support the main hut. In order to maintain the place they stay, the project included rebuilding the bridge, and the two small wings beside the hut.

There are 14 BB Boys helped voluntary in this projects + three hired local carpenters. Within a day (morning 9:30 till 5:00 afternoon), the project finished. Praise God that Sopier (the girl) has a stronger hut and this also give experiences and opportunities to the boys to learn how to serve n help other people. May God use these boys to become servant leader among their people.

Let's check out the photos:
The house before repairing - they are using sampan to replace the bridge
The left wing of the hut - for the brother to sleep at night

The right wing of the hut - as kitchen

School update

Hai.

Last Monday, Phnom Penh Cambodia had a very heavy rain for a day. The water level rose up very quickly. We worried the flood will come inside the offices at the ground floor area. We quickly took up all the books, school uniforms, computer and boxes to the higher places. Then we have a prayer meeting to ask for God's mercy for His people in this lovely city. On the next day, we were shocked by the flood at MSC because since the school started until today, we never encounter this kind of serious flood. Our current no of students are 800 plus students but that morning less than a hundred came to school, because not only our school is flooded but other area as well. So for the 1st time in our history we were force to close the school for two days because of the flood.

We immediately send some SMS to friends to ask them to pray for us and ask for God mercy. God is faithful and He had listened to our prayer. The rain has stopped and we only have a normal rain recently. Praise the Lord.

Beside the above surprise everyone is fine here. All the operations run smoothly. We also have some good news because the Lord has provided MSC two new short termers to teach English in our school for three months. And next month, we will have another short termer from Singapore for three months as well. She is a retired Pricipal in Singapore comes here to look see look see.... Maybe she will stay on in the near future.

Please pray for the short termers so that they can catch the vision to come back and help in this school.

here are some photos to share....

This new school year we have some new jobs and responsibilities. will update next month.

FAITH Garden

This coming year, BB is going to introduce a new living skill subject called FAITH Garden. What is FAITH Garden?
FAITH stands for Food Always In The Home. The whole idea is to grow a healthier food and built healthier lifestyle for ourselves. It's actually a farming method that use only natural ingredience to grow the fruits and vegetables, which mean zero chemical.

SK recently pop up an idea on how to let the city boys to know some knowledge of farming. Then out of the sudden, he realised that Pastor Francis (person in Charge in COSI) is running a program called FAITH garden at COSI for the past two years. So SK contacted him and he agreed to organize a training courses just for us. Hahaha Praise the Lord, we responded quickly and SK called some boys' leaders to the school and asked them to come and learn about this program. After that they will teach the rest of the boys. Praise the Lord. They all agreed and on the 13, 14 and 15 Sept, we went to COSI to learn how to setup and run the FAITH Garden.

Throughout the lesson, they had learnt diligently and practically by doing every step themselves (one of the GB girl was also interested, so she came along as well). Now we are trying to grow some vegetables in basins. Hihiihh So far so good. Soon we will have our first harvest in MSC.

Before they started to dig the soil

2. Pray that BB will have few more committed officers.
3. We are going to have two new local volunteers to become officers. One from the youth of the church and the other one is from one of the Methodist Youth Hostel. May God bless them to have the hearts to serve the Boys.
4. We are going to elect a new Captain, because the previous captain resigned from BB. Please pray that God will provide a suitable person for this important position.
